MtGDB has been re-configured as a chromosome-based brower based on Mt1 Release. Availabale are 8 pseudomolecules (chromosome 1-8) and a concatenation of BACs not included in the assembly (labeled as "chromosome 9").

MtGDB is being developed as a part of our NSF-funded project "Cyberinfrastructure for (Comparative) Plant Genome Research Through PlantGDB" (PI: Volker Brendel). The purpose of this resource is to provide a convenient sequence-centered genome view for Medicago truncatula, with a narrow focus on gene structure annotation.

At MtGDB, you can browse the genome or zoom in on your favorite genes, look at the current gene structure annotation and compare it with cDNA and EST evidence, and (if necessary) contribute your corrections and comments directly to the database. You can access all functions of MtGDB over the web, but you can also download the entire database and interface and install it off-line on your laptop, for example. The premise of this design is that research on the genome-scale is greatly facilitated by a database backend (with all the standard query capabilities) and nice viewing tools. Please see our Projects page for how collaborators and we have been using this - and let us know if you have something to add!

If you are new to this site and would like a short introduction to the resource, please check out the Site Map. If you would like a more thorough introduction, please check our Tutorials. And if you prefer to explore this resource by getting going right away, it would be best to start by Browsing the genome or having alook at the Projects page. Enjoy!
